I love this easy quick oat apple crumble recipe because there’s no need to rub in the margarine as you would normally need do in a traditional crumble recipe. The margarine, sugar and golden syrup or treacle are lightly melted and quickly mixed together with the porridge oats to make the delicious slightly crunchy topping. The recipe uses ready prepared tinned or bottled apples, but you can use any fruit you choose. Delicious served hot from the oven on its own, or with custard or freshly whipped cream. This recipe can also be baked in an Airfryer – set the dial to 140C and bake until golden.
