Port Wine Lozenges Recipe
from an old family notebook
- 280 ml / 1.2 cups / port wine
- 85 g / 3/8 cup sugar
- Rind of 1/2 a lemon
- 1/2 inch / 1.25 cm piece of cinnamon stick
- 1/2 oz / 14 g gelatine
- Simmer all gently for 5 minutes.
- Strain into a flat tin and when cool cut into lozenges.
