Hogg’s China Shop, located in Donegall Square West, Belfast, was known as The Gift House of Ulster. It was taken over in the 1990s and relocated to Royal Avenue, but closed some years later.
Hogg’s advertised themselves as The ONLY address in a little 1956 Ulster cookbook Good Eats.
The ad was black and white, with a pic of Royal Doulton’s The Potter, with the script above reading ‘So I will go down to the House of the Potter’.
Over 60 years later ‘The Potter’ is still a collectible piece today.
