A really handy, quick and easy five minute microwave chocolate cake. It’s an all in one recipe i.e. you just weigh the seven ingredients into a bowl, give them a quick mix with a spoon, pour them into a silicone cake mould, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes in the microwave.
This is a cake to make just before you need it, as microwave cakes do tend to try out if kept for any length of time. It rises nicely and slices well, making it perfect for filling with buttercream or whipped cream.
It’s ideal for a last-minute Black Forest Gateau, or even just a school dinner pud of chocolate sponge and warm custard.
