OVALTINE BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING
Thinly cut bread and butter
Brown sugar to taste
560 ml milk
1 tablespoon Ovaltine
A few currants, raisins or sultanas
Place the bread and butter in a pie dish, sprinkling the slices with brown sugar and the fruit. Beat the eggs lightly, add 1 tablespoonful of milk and the Ovaltine. Warm the rest of the milk to nearly boiling, and pour over. Pour this custard over the bread and butter and bake in a moderate oven at around 350F / 180C / Gas Mark 4 for about half an hour, until set.
